Alicia attended Central Michigan University where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy graduate degree from Central Michigan University in 2007. Alicia has practiced in the Mid-Michigan region since 2007 and has gained valuable experiences within the spectrum of physical therapy, giving her a vast perspective of treatment techniques and applications. She uses an integrative treatment model that combines functional movements and total body strengthening, along with hands-on, manual treatment to achieve optimal outcomes.
Her focus is on orthopedic injury/treatment, sports injury prevention & rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation and treatment of neurologic disorders. She has sought additional training in youth sports injury, women’s health, spinal & rib dysfunctions, lymphedema management & compression wrapping and aquatic therapy. Alicia also serves as a clinical instructor to physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students. Alicia resides in Midland with her husband, Shawn, and their five children. She is a fitness enthusiast, with a special passion for Pilates and yoga.
Kara attended Hope College where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology- Exercise Science. She went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate degree from Indiana University in 2007. Prior to joining Renue in 2015, she practiced in the greater Lansing area for almost eight years where she gained valuable experiences within the spectrum of physical therapy including: sub-acute rehabilitation focusing on cardiac, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders.
She directed and assisted with the development of an aquatic therapy program focused on subacute rehabilitation. Kara strives to provide the best possible treatment techniques for her patients of all ages through evidenced based practice. Kara is a certified clinical instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association and enjoys teaching physical and occupational therapy students. She currently resides in Midland with her husband Dr. Jeffrey Martindale and 2 children.
